Burritos get a bit of a bad rap. When most people think of them they think of a big scoop of beans wrapped in a flour tortilla. But, they don’t have to be so simple. You can be known as the Mad Burrito Chef making incredibly tasty meals in a wrap.

Burritos Can Have Variety

If you can put it in a wrap with some beans then you can call it a burrito. You can make all sorts of them to impress your buddies with your burrito chef skill. Here are some ideas to play around with until you come up with your own style.

Breakfast

Pancakes and syrup? Probably not. But sausage, hash browns and eggs? Oh yeah! Fry up your favorite breakfast meat: ham, strips of bacon (MORE BACON!), some hash browns or fried potatoes and top it all off with a fried egg that is cooked to perfection over easy. Drop a scoop of some pico de gallo on top. Wrap it up and serve.

Lunch

Make burritos with leftovers and a scoop of beans, top with some cheese and salsa, wrap and then put them in the freezer for a fast lunch. All you have to do is microwave it for 1-2 minutes on low and lunch is served.

Dinner and Parties

Pick up some Chili Verde from El Caminito and open a couple of cans of refried beans (the ones with the pink beans are the best). Make the burritos one at a time during the big game with a scoop of Chili Verde, refried beans, a dollop of sour cream, a few fresh cilantro leaves and a squirt of hot sauce. It is the perfect dinner or game time snack. Serve with Mexican Coke or Beer. To get really fancy, drown it in some hot mole sauce!

Burritos are easy to assemble and best when made just before they’re served.
